More than just a tropical paradise - a cultural treasure
Zanzibar is an enchanting archipelago just off the coast of mainland Tanzania, known for its white sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and rich cultural heritage. The islands are celebrated for their local spices and historical significance. Pemba and Unguja, the largest islands, each offer unique experiences. Unguja is home to Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring night markets, narrow streets, and Arabian-Indian architecture. Notable sites include Africa's last slave market, The Sultan’s Palace, The House of Wonders and the old Omani fort. Outside Stone Town, Unguja (often just referred to as “Zanzibar”) is dotted with beach resort towns, sandy beaches, forests and spice farms. The surrounding coral reefs teem with all types of aquatic life, making it a world renowned diver's paradise.
