Description
Mikumi and Udzungwa is a perfect combination for an African safari. Mikumi is a gem and home to elephant, giraffe, hippo, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, lion, leopard and a huge variety of birds. Then a walking safari up the Udzungwa Mountains offers a view of lots of birds, monkeys and flora and fauna to see along the way. At the top are some breath-taking views of African plains that go on and on below. Enjoy cooling down in the waterfalls, either just dipping in your toes or going for a swim.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Sunset Game Drive
Activities: Depart Dar es Salaam on the new electric train, it will take you less than two hours to arrive in Morogoro. Upon arrival you will be met by our skilful and friendly driver who will then take you to Mikumi National Park. Before setting out on a game drive you'll have lunch and relax a bit, whilst it is still hottest part of the day. In the afternoon you will get the chance to experience the cool breeze of the park with a beautiful sunset view as you explore the wilderness and its mighty animals.

Day 2: Adventure in the Mikumi Plains
Activities: Early morning drives are the best in Mikumi. You get to see the breathtaking sunrise in the beautiful skies stretching over the savannah, as you witness the animals stirring or heading back after a night hunt. It is another opportunity to catch a glimpse of the mighty lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebra, antelopes, warthogs, hippos, monkeys and a wide variety of birds. You also get to enjoy a packed lunch inside the park then keep exploring the wilderness and engraving even more beautiful memories of the amazing Tanzanian wild animals. Rest and wash away the dust of the day at your hotel. Enjoy a dip in the pool if that is how you like to freshen up.

Visit a Local Maasai Village
Activities: Embark on a new adventure with us. Having seen much of the fauna in Mikumi, this is the chance to see more of the flora. Walking through the forests that cover the Udzungwa Mountains is a unique experience. You may well get to spend more time with monkeys than you did in Mikumi! There are various options of trails to use on the mountains, from a one hour hike of 4km to three- four hours hike of 14km (the reward at the top is well worth it!). At the top of the 4 hr trail are Udzungwa's mighty Sanje Falls. Linger in the moment and have a swim or just dip your toe in the falls, whilst appreciating the view of the endless savannah stretching out below you.

Day 4: Visit a Local Maasai Village
Activities: This is your last day with us but one more thing before you go. Have you ever heard of the Maasai tribe? Get to know more about them, their culture and nomadic way of life. Maasai is one of the most interesting tribes in Tanzania. They are known for their bravery and strength without forgetting their unique way of dressing and dances. After visiting a nearby village, you will start your journey to go back home. We hope you have created wonderful and everlasting memories of Tanzania.
