What happens in the evening, after we have finished our safari for the day?
Again, this depends on the hotel, your preferences, your budget, and in many cases, your energy levels. If you simply want to relax, we’ll leave you to it. Or – if we’re near a town – we can arrange an evening visit.
At each location, we’ll tell you about the optional extras available. These cover a range of different activities, including the following:
- Enjoying a real bush experience with a campfire
- Sharing a romantic moment on a comfy sundowner
- Refreshing with a relaxing swim in the hotel pool
- Feeling soothed and revitalised with a deep tissue massage
What other safety measures are in place?
We’re proud to be part of the Flying Doctors cover, which is included in the cost of your safari.
It’s important to state that our drivers and team are highly trained. But if you were to experience a health difficulty, we would be able to call upon a medic to fly to the airstrip closest to our location.
How long will we be out on safari for each day?
Ultimately, that’s up to you. We know that some people like their beauty sleep, whilst others thrive on getting up at 5am. To that end, we’ll prepare exactly the kind of schedule you want.
When you select your package, we’ll ask if you want to change from the suggested time. So, we can leave after an early breakfast. Or we can make a more leisurely start at 10am.
What happens if there’s a breakdown inside the park?
Please rest assured that breakdowns are extremely rare. Mainly because the Landrover and Toyota are known for their durability, which is why we use them for the job. Additionally, all vehicles are thoroughly serviced in preparation for your trip.
If the worst were to happen, however, two spare tyres are carried. And our drivers know how to make repairs as and when they occur. They are also part of a network of other drivers, who will come to assist if there’s any problems.
What will the vehicle we travel in be like?
We operate with a Toyota Landcruiser in the northern circuit and a Landrover Defender in the southern circuit. Both are strong and sturdy vehicles, made for African terrain. Additionally, it’s fully insured so it meets all the safety requirements.
At the same time, your comfort is also of paramount importance. To that end, the Toyota Landcruiser offers a spacious and refined interior, with a fridge and air conditioning to keep you nice and cool. Or toasty warm if we’re driving through the rainy season. It 's open top roof proivdes ideal viewing, so you can enjoy the open spaces and surrounding wildlife.
The Landrover Defender is an open back so you can truly sense that you are part of the wonders surrounding you.
